1. If the Democrats had taken a serious position: On FAIR TRADE
Edited on Fri Nov-05-10 10:44 AM by OHdem10
Admitted that something has gone wrong with our Free
Trade System and they would make serious changes
making it FAIR TRADE, they would have swept the country.

First must admit something has gone wrong and be
ready to illustrate how to improve.

In Ohio FREE TRADERS and WALL STREETERS won.

Why, because the GOP could point the finger at Bill Clinton
every time someone brougt up TRADE.

This happens to parties who cannot draw a distingquishing
line between the two parties.

2. States Outsourcing Jobs
that's just wrong!

States are outsourcing public sector jobs as well, though most state governments do not know exactly how many. At least forty states contract out administration of electronic benefit cards for the food stamps program offshore. In one audit, the state of Washington found 36 out of 41 agencies were contracting out work overseas. A recent study by INPUT Research projects outsourcing of state and local government technology contracts will grow from $10 billion last year to $23 billion in 2008.

5. Yeah, let's cut more taxes so that government can justify outsourcing public jobs
since they don't have the money to pay Americans.

Brilliant.

3. The problem is, there are no quick fixes
Edited on Fri Nov-05-10 10:50 AM by BootinUp
that won't cause disruption to the economy right now (not good). Obama is all for tax code changes to discourage outsourcing. The Fed is using policy to pressure China on their currency. H1B visa policy has been adjusted. There are things being done but its going to be slow going on this front.

4. exactly-but I don't think John Doe realizes how he's been screwed by multinational corps.
he wants to take his country back...from the very people he elected...see Rand Paul's views on free trade.
