1. It's nothing more than propaganda...Rasmussen reports daily and hammered home that Repukes are

2. Looks like they almost all have an R bias.
Isn't that a huge red flag? Even a few points of bias (if consistent) can swing an election like we just had.

It doesn't matter that WE know they are biased, 95% of the people don't have a clue. They just hear the results trumpeted about 100 times per day on Faux, and CNN, and MSNBC, and radio, and from their friends and coworkers, etc, etc.

6. I think that all of the pollsters have to tweak their model/assumptions.
The cell phone-only skew did not tip the election, but I think it did have something to do with the oversampling of R voters.

13. Well, look at IL. They predicted Quinn would lose by 6 pts. He won it by 1.
That's a really big error.

Reid in NV too

9. More so, early in the race.
They're seriously biased a few months out, less so as an election nears.

They've got to preserve some credibility for the next round.

4. Nate Silver is fantastic
we need more like him actually keeping track of what is being done.

I'd like to see somebody really follow the money that goes into the secret funds that assholes like Karl Rove front, but that may be a lot easier said than done since the Supreme Court gave corporations the go ahead to secretly spend as much cash as they want.

10. It's the Marist Institute for Public Opinion at Marist College in New York.
McClatchy, the newspaper company, generally sponsors their polling.

12. I really don't know.
I do know that McClatchy is kind of all over the place, editorially speaking. But then again, they own a bunch of newspapers. For example, they own the largest paper in Alaska, The Anchorage Daily News...and they endorsed Obama in 2008 over Queen Sarah. So it's hard to say.
