I'm sorry, but I am 100% positive Keith was not the only journalist to donate
to anyone's campaign this go-around. Yeah, he broke their rules, but they need to find out who else did, and yeah, I'm talking about you, Mrs. Greenspan.

1. What are you guys referring to? Someone just posted about Uncle Pat donating,
too.

What's the rule?

Thanks.

2. If he broke the rules, he pays for it...
There's no going back on that. But yes, we should see what the rules are for the rest and see what's going on.

3. Of course not. What's in question is related to the specific terms of his employment.
My contract with my employer includes a rather extensive list of things that I can be terminated for doing. Many of those things are perfectly legal, some are even the exercise of basic civil rights.

If I were to disclose my real name on DU or any other political forum on the Internet, I could be fired for that.

5. seems to me he's been targeted...if others broke the rules, then
he shouldn't be the only one singled out.

11. Why would they target one of their highest-rated hosts?
Edited on Fri Nov-05-10 02:27 PM by slackmaster
It makes no sense, unless it's a publicity stunt.

They don't care about his politics. He's an asset to them.

4. Here's something puzzling
HuffPo's page w/ info re- who donated what.

It doesn't show Olbermann donating to anything.

It shows MY donations.

It shows a Sean Hannity residing near NYC
Donation of $2,400 to john gomez for congress

It shows a William Oreilly
Donation of $2,400 to martha coakley for senate commit

Let's check some more, including any conservative commentators ON MSNBC (I don't watch much tv so don't know who they might be).

7. Probably not the same William OReilley--I think Billo would cut off his loofah
rather than support Coakley.

6. According to what seems to be the story, as long as Mrs. Greenspan
notified her boss of her donations, she's good to go. Apparently the reason Keith is suspended is because he donated but did not notify his boss that he did so.

8. Well then, was he the only one not to notify his boss?
I think he was targeted.

9. And because he has been targeted, any others who broke the same
rule will be spared, unless they are liberal voices that is.

tell me that yeah, they always are.

13. Make sure you compare apples to apples with this one
Keith signed a contract saying he would not do this. Does Fox or CNN have this in their contracts? If not then you're comparing apples to oranges.
