The real crime, is there is any at all, is receiving, not giving...
If a reporter, pundit, or network contributes to some candidate, that's okay. The real harm is done when a reporter, pundit or network receives money from a party, corporation, or candidate to advance their policies.

They got the whole crime here ass backwards. MSNBC, wise up.

and those gifts can be "business meetings" at golf courses, fancy restaurants, and resorts. Or gratis trips on corporate or personal jets that just happen to be going to the same destination.

Olberman violated the illusion of impartiality, an illusion as artificial as a hothouse orchid. I'm thinking this could be a free speech issue that the Roberts court would be shamed into upholding should he sue. In other words, unless he announced his donations on the air and shilled for more donations to the same candidates, it's difficult to see MSNBC's interest in this.

Personally, I think he must've mooned Steve Burke.
