Olbermann's suspension shows why we need to move away from giving corporations our viewer$hip
It sure would be great if several rich liberals started a 24 hour news channel, so we didn't have to rely on MSNBCorp and CorpNN for breaking news and discussion. If Oprah can do a station, I sure wish someone with clout who's interested in getting honest world & political news out, would take the lead on this. I thought Current was going to be that hope, several years ago, but that's not what they do.

I would love seeing Rachel, Ed, Keith, Lawrence, Cenk, and Mr Ratigan on a network where they didn't have to verify they could discuss a subject that a million or more people were going to see.

So Faux News Channel can be a 24 hour GOP/TEA party commercial, but we cannot get a real network?

1. yes... time to quit giving money to corporate
interests... including MSNBC. They are not our friend and would fire all the nightime lineup in a heartbeat if they weren't making a ton of money for the business.

2. some very smart DUers have been saying this for some time about MSNBC, & dammit, we need to get this
done, where we can give our "eyes" and therefore, MONEY from commercials, to a liberal news TV network. FAUX mastered it, and those sheep believe the crap they lie about daily. It would be great to have hard hitting investigation, news, commentary, etc, from a REAL 24/7 News Channel

3. not 24/7 but
Democracy Now is the best! Bill Moyers used to be fantastic (I'm sure he still is, just not on TV)

the culture has changed and most people are not getting thr whole picture... also as a society/culture able to select from such a wide variety of sources... we have established distorted and decidedly different(opposing) viewpoints and attitudes... it continues the fear and hatred of the 'other'

7. I always thought the Millionaires/Billionaires who say they are "liberal" never did do enough!
We can give and give and give are little bits of money that we have to our candidates but they can't chip in together and support a network that would really MAKE A DIFFERENCE! It would be profitable too I bet! If only..................

10. GR8 POINT! I've thought that, also. They write us emails all the time asking us to give and give but
why don't they set up a major news organization with some of the best of the Left talking heads, and get organized with Democracy Now! and get a real force going against the lies of the MSM, and especially, Faux "News".

8. you're right .. if he sets up a ustream channel or something similar
i will definitely subscribe.

I would love to dump our mega-corporate overlords. I have to get my cable/internet via comcast because it's the only cable company in the area (can't do satellite in an apartment). My long-standing email is tied to @comcast (i need to start transitioning to something else!)
