Do the constant requests for donations bother you?
One huge difference in election cycles is the solicitations of donations. It seems to be the standard now that everyone is expected to pay for what democracy is left. It is wrong and everyone knows it. That isn't democracy to me. That is a electorate under seige from power brokers of a plutocracy. When is enough going to be enough? We are now urged to bribe our elected officials individually. No?

2. Yes
I don't donate to candidates or political organizations. They seem to be doing just fine without me. If individuals want to donate, fine, it's their money. I think way TOO MUCH money is spent on elections. Unfortunately, the new Supreme Court law is only going to make it worse.

3. "Things are really bad; give us all your money!"
It had gotten utterly ridiculous before Citizens United.

Now it's hopeless.

I could go broke in one election cycle and the money I lost would be an infinitesimal drop in the bucket.

If it's going to be government-to-the-highest-bidder, then we've already lost.

4. That is so true. It's already lost when it comes to this.
