TPM: Scarborough, Buchanan Also Made Political Contributions
MSNBC suspended host Keith Olbermann today, following revelations that he made campaign contributions to three Democrats in the elections -- a violation of MSNBC policy.

But a search of OpenSecrets.org reveals that MSNBC host Joe Scarborough and MSNBC contributor Pat Buchanan have also made contributions to political campaigns. Here's what we found...

In March 2006, Scarborough, who hosts the show Morning Joe, gave $4200 to Derrick Kitts (R-OR). And, as the Daily Kos points out, a month later Kitts was a guest on Scarborough's show.

Between 2005-2008, Pat Buchanan made five contributions to Republican candidates, totaling $2250.

2. Whatever their rules, Joe Scarborough revealed HIS political
leanings, and that cannot be erased. So either they suspend him or they bring Keith back.

1. The problem is that contracts for contributors (buchannan)
and non news staff are different.

I already complained but it is in the contract... and yes companies can and do this regularly.

5. They probably made the rule BECAUSE of Joe, LOL. Has he made contribs since?
At to PAT Buchanan I bet "contributers' probably don't have the same contract rules.

which reminds me - I am SO GLAD THEY NEVER GAVE PAT A SHOW>

6. Corporate Overlords done with playing moderate with MSNBC, True Colors
now blatantly evident. How many times have you seen Rick Loser Lasseo on MSNBC last few days? Now the Repub retreads back more often on CNN too! The Corporate domination of USA culture is now almost complete. Look for a strong-arm Repug Candidate in 2012 - Its Springtime in America for Facists!

DUCK!

7. They disclosed them
big difference. Kieth would be fine if he had just disclosed his donations.

10. And this is in that contract...where?
Not according to the reason Griffith says Keith was suspended.... the supposed reason Keith was suspended was for donating when it was against so called "policy" to do so. IF that was true, then WHAT does it matter if he disclosed or not? A rule is a rule......either it's ok to donate or it's not.....apparently it was just fine for the conservative AND the conservative "contributors"to donate but NOT the Dems. What a load....

Funny how Conservatives live under a different set of rules than do Democrats - even on that evil "libral" msnbc.....it is either a rule they can't donate or it isn't; period
