1. Don't know how good that is for the deer - and the family could end up with...
...lyme disease, not a fun thing.

2. Probably not a good idea, but it's adorable. Can't blame her.

4. I knew an Oregon family that had a house broken "pet" buck
Finally, some asshole shot him from the road in front of their house and drove away.

5. Cats can't jump through a window if they get freaked out.

6. In most of the US it would be against wildlife protection laws.
Natural resource departments take a pretty dim view of this practice.

And besides. Most deer lovers know hooves are sharp and can tear the satin sheets, it's somewhat better to entertain them in the yard.

9. The deer either has to be cut loose, or kept in captivity.
Allowing the deer to live half in the wild, half in the company of humans is a recipe for disaster.

12. It will be OK
nature takes its course - he/she will join the other deer at a certain age.

I have deer in my yard and I just leave them alone. Hunters also come around and shoot them in peoples yards. They have been pushed out of their habitat by houses and have nowhere else to go.

11. A friend did this
actually, he raised her because her mother was killed. When she was old enough for mating season, she left to join the other deer. She would come back occassionally for a snack and a visit. She also jumped through the window once but was not hurt.
As an adult her time was spent with the other deer but when my friend and I went on walks, sometimes she would join us - nudging me out of the way so she could walk next to my friend.
It is probably not a great idea in most circumstances but sometimes need comes first.
