Television is not reality

It is at best a distortion of reality, when not outright fantasy. Why would you expect a giant capitalists enterprise to provide you with the unvarnished truth? It is all managed with your minds in mind, it sets the limits of your reality. The talking heads of the so-called left do this just as much as those of the right. The closest thing to reality on TV is the Weather Channel, and I wonder about them.

Get a fucking grip. Look around with your own two eyes, you don't need an interpretor for that.

1. Yeah, actually the Weather Channel might be fairly suspect, too.
Their CEo is a climate change denier, and I've noticed on particularly hot days, their stated temp readings are actually susbstantially lower than what pretty much every other source reports. Makes me wonder.

4. K&R for actual sense.
Not "common" sense (which is media-managed), but actual sense.

5. What a ridiculous and dismissive failure to understand the situation.
Not to mention some excellent false equivalence.

Impressive addition to the discourse.

It happens time and time again.

On edit, I just got a whiff of all the threads. I see what you mean.

11. I've never liked tv -
when I was growing up in the 70's my dad would come home from the factory, eat dinner, and watch cop shows. If we wanted to watch tv that was our choice. So, I did a lot of reading.

Now I have a family with hundreds of stations on four tv's, and I don't turn one on unless there's a sporting event I want to watch. And I watch Glee - but often after the fact on www.hulu.com.

It is simply entertainment with mind control involved regarding "news" and we'd all be a lot better off if they outlawed the things.
