Did Olbermann do this on purpose to make a point?
I can't believe he accidentally messed up. He is too smart for that. I'm thinking this is his protest on Fox News.

What do you all think?

3. No. Smart people make mistakes.
He isn't a God. He's a human being. Prone to make a mistake. I believe it was a mistake.

4. I was thinking about that, too.
It would make an interesting case. Can a corporation that is allowed to make unlimited campaign contributions demand that its employees make none without "permission?"

The corporation has unlimited "free speech" while the employee has none. At least that's what it looks like to me.

10. That's my understanding.
But why should he need permission?

5. If it's a power play
He knows MSNBC will get creamed with people demanding he get put back on the air...Wasn't this much outrage with Schuster or Carlos Watson

6. Crossed my mind too
I think he wanted to see how the upper levels would react. It's still coming to light so we'll see how this plays out. But yes, I agree, this was calculated, or at least had some thought put into it.

12. He did the exact thing that Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan did with no consequence.
Problem is that like at any workplace, if the boss likes you, you can get away with murder, but if the boss has it out for you, he'll bust your balls for looking at him crosseyed. Griffin was looking for an excuse and found one.
