How hard is it to start a new Loyal opposition (Democratic) cable news station?
with all the crap out there would consolidating resources to committing to one newtork o\r channel be worth the effort. I'd bet we would have some willing advisors or participants.

1. BIG BUCKS! A whole lot more than all the people on DU has combined!
Westoodour best shot with MSNBC because its already established and doing very well lately. How long that will ast if they get rid of their top star is debateabe.

7. It can't be that expensive.
Check out RFD TV sometime.

Ya gotta have some advertisers though.

Air America bombed because they didn't sell enough advertising.

4. Well see, you have another problem
Even if you SOMEHOW find the money to start it up and get it running, you have to get carriage. Think carriers like Time Warner, Comcast and the others will be interested in a network that goes against their views?

5. Screw cable, just set it up like (tech news site) twit.tv They get similar audience sizes to
cable channels, and they're just tech news.

8. With a subscriber base & advertisers it might make it....
I do know that cable companies by law have to permit cable access. We have an almost useless cable access channel on TW Cable here. Only one old lady gets on it now. I know it varies from community to community.
