I just wanted to post this little story that got lost in the shuffle of everything that happened this week. Michael Mauro was a FANTASTIC Sec. of State for Iowa, who was instrumental in removing touch-screen voting machines in many precincts throughout the state, and adopted a standard of optically-scanned paper ballots everywhere in Iowa.
He was actually defeated on Election Day, and then had to deal with this. His reputation is so squeaky-clean that the incoming Repuke governor asked him to consider a job in his administration.
I'll bet every cent to my name that tea-bagging scum are responsible for this crime. Come on - election night, and they just HAPPENED to stumble upon the house of one of the major statewide candidates? "The home of Secretary of State Michael Mauro was the scene of a police burglary investigation on Wednesday.
Officers were called to the home in the 4300 block of Southwest 31st Street shortly before 2 p.m.
Officers said Mauro came home to find the front door had been forced open. An officer walked through the house with Mauro and took notes on items that had been stolen.
A laptop computer was missing from a front closet. A comforter and pillows were stolen from the master bedroom.
Most of the house was ransacked."
