2. Harry Mitchell was considered a Blue Dog? He voted for HCR!
Well that just ticks me off at the grave-dancers around here. I will now have a CRIMINAL representing me in Congress instead of Harry.

I don't care if some people think he wasn't liberal enough. He represented Scottsdale AZ! It was a miracle he ever got elected and then re-elected once. Now this district is going to be red for a long, long time. Remember JD Hayworth? He was my rep before Harry. That's the kind of scum the pod people around here usually elect. Harry was a treasure, "Blue Dog" or not.

Covenina,
Proud volunteer for Team Harry '10

11. Here Schweikert VANDALIZED Harry's signs by adding "Supports Obamacare"
They made it with the same color & font & attached them to Harry's signs to get the idiots riled up. Virtually every sign in the district was vandalized that way or with a similar style "Union Owned".

When Harry complained he was told it was "free speech" and that he wasn't allowed to remove them from his signs.

4. Minnick D-Idaho was my Congessthing. I held my nose and
voted for him. He voted against HCR and ran commercials bragging about it. He would have stood a better chance had he gone the other way.
Even with a Democrat like that the Republicans in our district were still going to prefer a Republican. He would have gotten considerably more support in my county and the neighboring county where the U of I is, if he had supported the President. He could at least have drawn more fire, and maybe soaked off resources from Republicans in other areas and states, if they had had to fight harder to take his seat.
I emailed him and flat out warned him to support HCR or else! I still voted for him on a prayer but too many others didn't. Stupid son of a bitch!

5. I voted for Boswell for the first time in many cycles
because candidate against him was a 'bagger. Boswell has gotten decidedly better in his voting record too. I'll hang onto our BD for the time being because we ended up with an R statehouse and governor. We need every Dem we can get.

6. How did the "New Dems" do. They hide behind the Blue Dogs...
only barking out loud when they
are needed to fuck over working people.

See: Bankruptcy Bill and IWR vote.

7. See here - Progressive Caucus is now the Dem plurality
Due to extensive losses by conservative and moderate Democrats, another shift in power occurred in the House last night besides Republicans taking the majority. The Congressional Progressive Caucus has replaced the Blue Dogs and the New Democrats as the plurality ideological caucus among House Democrats. For the first time ever, the CPC is larger than Blue Dogs and New Dems combined.

Here are the specifics, assuming every House candidate who is currently ahead stays ahead. That would mean a Republican majority of 243-192, for a net Republican gain of 64:

Here is a finer level of detail that separates out the duplicates, and looks at the five types of ideological caucus members among House Democrats with full voting rights:

Now we can have a strong message in DC!

We may have "lost control" of the house,
but now we can control the message for our side!
