Afghanistan and having "skin in the game"

My son-in-law is a medic in the USN.
He will be shipping off to work in a hospital in Kandahar, for 10 months at least, in a couple of weeks.

My daughter is expecting their first child while he is gone.

This just hits home hard for me.
I realize he signed up (14 years ago) and it was his choice.

How many of you have "skin in the game"?

FUCK OCCUPATION and SCREW YOU Mr. President for escalating it.

1. Good vibes for your son-in-law.
If he's a combat medic, he'll be out pounding the sand with the rest of Uncle Sam's Misguided Children.

2. Hopefully...

...he will remain as he is assigned to the largest hospital there.

But who knows.
