If you didn't read about it, the Pukes get to redistrict America again
It's a census year. I think they have been planing for this for years, because now they get to determine OUR political future by changing the lines and marginalizing the Democrats wherever they can.

THAT was the greatest loss of this election, not 61 seats.

http://www.daytondailynews.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/dayton/ohiopolitics/entries/2010/11/03/gop_will_control_legislative_c.html

After months of failed efforts to reform how Ohio draws legislative and congressional districts, the process next year will be the same as it was after the 2000 census:

Completely controlled by Republicans.

The Apportionment Board next year will draw new state legislative districts - 99 in the House and 33 in the Senate -, based on the 2010 census.

Republicans will hold all three statewide seats on the five-member board - governor, secretary of state and auditor. A member of the legislature from each party will join Gov.-elect John Kasich, Auditor-elect Dave Yost and Secretary of State-elect Jon Husted on the board.

1. Yep - what will it take for voters to wake the hell up?
Republicans will redistrict in their favor. Comcast will take over NBC and make a sharp right turn in MSNBC programming. Etc., Etc., Etc.

America is almost completely controlled by corporations.

2. The alarm went out years ago but this falls into the not sexy realm, I guess.
Folks just don't care to look under the hood or at the under carriage. Hell, seldom is their an eye test of the tires.

Just talk of is it a stick or an automatic and the stereo or if it has GPS and what material the seats are upholstered with and in what color.

3. I'm wondering how FL will divide up? We passed our fair and free districting
on election night.. Probably surprised a lot of pukes who were all about nix 5 and 6, but people want fair elections. Should be interesting to see what they think is "fair"?

5. Most voters don't even know what that means
Or care.

Here in IA we should be OK. It's supposed to be decided by a non-partisan commission.

6. Yep. Blue Pima County will be split and Arizona will no longer have ANY Dem presence
in DC. I'm seriously thinking of getting out but I love the Sonoran.

7. Not in Colorado.
We still have a Democratic governor, and a Democratic state senate, which means that the GOP cannot gerrymander Colorado.

9. I believe that is true in NY and CA as well..but the majority of the states now have repuke govs and

repuke dominated state legislatures. They do not have to rule ALL the states to be able to set up a situation that owuld maek the election of a Democratic President very difficult, and a Democratic Majority in the House virtually impossible.

Check into what Tom DeLay did in Texas.

8. That is why I have said that the repukes have been playing chess and the Dems playing checkers.
It might very well have been their plan all along to lose in 2008...I mean REALLY....McCain/Palin?????????????????

They knew that whoever became President in 2009 would have to deal with all the crap left behind by pres shit-for-brains AND the war in Iraq. They figured, let the Dems have this one, and they will no doubt get covered in mud trying to extricate the country from the mess...and then...the repukes can cash in during the midterm elections...when the House will be doing the redistricting that will set the tone for at least the NEXT TEN YEARS!!!

The repuke voters are idiots, but the strategists are not.

10. Reminder---Tom Delay in Texas
"Every redistricting is a partisan political exercise, but this is going to put it at a level we have never seen," said Rep. Rahm Emanuel (Ill.), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "That's the gift that the Supreme Court and Tom DeLay have given us."

16. Don't worry - when the Fox News Congress fucks up and fails to deliver, they wont last.
So I'm not really worried about the next two years - sure nothing will get done but I'm willing to bet that they'll fuck up colossally because they will not deliver on their promises. So the redistricting thing - yeah it might work in their favor for a while, but when they fuck up - the people will begin to demand answers.

17. People whose own self-interests (the unemployed) were at stake voted for them
Their message is powerful. When the bullhorn of FAUX bellows, ALL of the MSM hears it. They are the leaders today.
