175,000 signatures for Keith Olberman Petition. Would Tweety get the same treatment?
If Tweety got fired or suspended, do you think he can expect the same response?

- - - -

As Danny Shea, Sam Stein, and others are well documenting, Keith Olbermann's suspension is getting a ton of attention. The Progressive Change Campaign Committee is organizing the public to do something about it. In just a few hours, 50,000, 75,000, 100,000, 175,000 MSNBC viewers signed our petition saying:

"Keith Olbermann made your network a success. If you want your viewers to keep tuning in to MSNBC, put Keith back on TV now!" Sign here - keep the momentum going!

1. No, Tweety would NOT get this kind of response. It would be Ho-Hum.

2. I don't know, and I don't see that it matters just now.

3. I think it matters if Keith can prove he has a loyal base.
Another network can pick him up.

6. I suppose, but I do find it odd that KO has been so silent about all of this.
And at least to date, it is being considered a temporary suspension.

7. I think he's smart.
He's probably conferring with a lawyer to review his legal options. Meanwhile, his public base makes his case stronger.

10. Perhaps, but until he speaks, I'm not going to create an opinion for myself.
I'm not convinced that this isn't a ploy to prove MSNBC and FOX are not equivalent which was Rachel's main point though she didn't claim it as the reason. Since she and KO seem attached at the hip, I'm going to wait a bit and see what happens.

12. This was a deliberate "in you face" move by the corporatists. They own the media. KO is a goner. nm

5. I wouldn't either.
I don't think there's anything he's saying that isn't being said better by others.

8. He deep-fried a Republican house member on Friday over tax-cuts and the deficit.
Hit him hard with Reagan deficits, etc etc. The Repub was tied up in knots with Republican logic. Tweety said he was full of "Malarky"

He's pretty darn good at that sort of thing.

11. Those kinds of clips get posted on DU sometimes, worth watching if you come across them.
Also on Crooks&Liars.

13. IS MsNbc mgt out of their minds? You cannot sign away basic civil rights in an employment contract.
Msnbc says Olberman should have gotten "APPROVAL" before making contributions. I don't even think this is enforceable.

signed petition.
