Alex Sink Calls White House tone-deaf.
MIAMI — Fresh off a narrow loss in Florida's gubernatorial race, Democrat Alex Sink is expressing some frustration with the White House.

Sink calls the White House "tone-deaf" in an interview published Saturday on Politico, saying Obama's aides weren't interested in hearing her concerns about Washington's handling of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill or problems building acceptance for the health overhaul.

She says "they just need to be better listeners and be better at reaching out to people who are on the ground."

Sink is Florida's chief financial officer. She lost the governor's mansion by just one percentage point to multimillionaire businessman Rick Scott.

4. I don't think so.. I think Obama stayed out of FL because of the whole Senate debacle
and yes.. the ground game was shit.. no money, no resources, pissed off people losing jobs, homes, and the Gulf... It was a lousy year to be a Democrat in FL

I honestly believe its time for a "regional govt".. and govt that is bigger than the states and serves areas of "like" interest that have real issues that the other states could give a shit less about. D.C. is too insulated to reality.

9. That is correct.
http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/the-buzz-florida-politics/2010/08/alex-sink-ducks-obama-in-miami.html

Sink's husband was an overt HClinton supporter in 2008. She welcomed BClinton's help in her campaign. She rejected Pres Obama's help and then blamed him for her loss.

The math is pretty easy on this one.

3. Obama offered to hold a rally in Miami the weekend before the election and the Sink campaign said no
Sink just wanted robo-calls.

She takes no responsibility for herself.

5. She didn't need support in Miami.. She needed on the I-4..
Too many people didn't come out.

Too many people who were supposed to get absentee ballots didn't.. We are now trying to figure out just how many and who didn't get their mail in ballots?

and we need to get rid of Karen Thurman.. she's just a Republican. She needs to be gone.

7. That's another issue we have in Florida.
Why has Thurman been allowed to hang on when this last election should have shown her utter lack of competence?

8. Little old blue haired ladies keep her there.
We need to stand up to say NO to her..

Perhaps now that Alan Grayson has some free time.. maybe he can create a real party?

6. The Republicans were already outpacing us in the early elections,
and that's something that the newspapers didn't report until AFTER the election. Everything I was hearing was that the Democrats were outpacing the Republicans. So, someone dropped the ball on that one, either intentionally, or incompetently.

In response to your post, maybe there was something that Obama failed to do early on when it might have made a difference? Like, let's say, help expose the graft that was going on in Jacksonville with the Medical billing issue. Could you imagine how much attention that issue could have received if Obama stood up and showed leadership on that one?

11. "Oddly enough ..."
Sink Blames Loss on Obama White House:
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/11/06/sink-blames-loss-on-obama-white-house/

Oddly enough, Sink doesn’t mention the fact that the DNC and Obama’s organizing wing OFA poured resources into Florida on her behalf to keep her competitive with Scott. Sink also neglects to mention that she had leads in polls in the final days of the election until she got caught cheating in a debate — and then lied about it. That didn’t do anything for her relationship to Florida voters, either.

13. She apparently fired the advisor that sent the message.
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/10/26/video-sink-cheats-during-fl-gubernatorial-debate/

After the debate, the Sink campaign released a statement from the candidate announcing that the advisor who sent the message has been removed from the campaign. The advisor was not named in the statement, but a campaign spokesman confirmed it is Brian May, who signed the rules agreement before the debate on behalf of the Sink campaign.

“After the debate tonight, one of my campaign advisors admitted he tried to communicate with me during one of the breaks,” Sink said.

“While he told me it was out of anger with Rick Scott’s repeated distortion of facts, it was a foolish thing to do. It violated a debate agreement and I immediately removed him from the campaign.'"
