Who can help me make a stand against some nasty Repugs on another forum?
Maybe it's dumb to even ask this. I hope it's not against some forum rule or etiquette. If so, mods please remove.

I post regularly on another forum, that has been taken over by righties in the past year. Most of the progressive posters have gotten sick of their abuse and just left.

It's just important to me to not give in to these people.

Can anyone read this thread and tell where where I could take it:

I'm being ganged up on about 6 to 1.

2. Usually
Someone will c+p some of the more idiotic stances and then we shred the beckerheads here and then you go back with a c+p from here and blow 'em away.

Personally I care not to give my traffic to another site, so no clickee.

3. Pack up and leave. Leave all the assholes preaching to the choir.
If you participate in a forum with an intent to change minds, it ain't gonna happen.

4. Tell 'em about that wuss Eisenhower and his 91% tax on the rich
and both houses of Congress had Republican majorities.

I'd tell 'em myself, but I don't feel like signing up for a new thing.

Good luck!

5. I can't help you there--I avoid controversy.
But I was surprised to see that posters at such a forum seemed so anti-liberal.

7. I get so angry with stuff like this that I can't even
make any sense, but I always think something like

ok Kentuckian, I don't believe the government should have anything to do with setting salaries (even though they do, by minimum wage laws). I believe that the free market and capitalism should do it all, why don't we start with you. Please explain what it is you do for a living, and I can guarantee you I can find 10 unemployed people that will work harder, longer and for much less than what you make. There are millions of unemployed people whose benefits have run out, and are on the verge of losing everything, so I think you should indulge in your inner anne rand, and put up or shut up. What exactly do you do for a living, I will take it from there. Unless of course, you inherited your wealth, and that means you are a total parasite.

Of course, being a mild mannered older women, I would never actually say that. But I sure would think it.

8. also, I would be very surprised if all of those writers
wrote in "support" of what they said. Sounds like a cut and paste from newsmax.

11. Just give up
I have been in the same situation before. Used to go to this pretty decent forum with some smart people on both sides and the debates used to be pretty in-depth and detailed. Eventually a bunch of conspiracy theorists and Beck-heads started posting shit in every thread and just wouldn't listen to reason or logic. I tried to get through for a lot longer than I should have and spent a fairly significant amount of time writing out long, easy to understand, structured posts responding directly to their points and offering up my own. They simply wouldn't read my entire posts or address the points I was trying to make. They would take one line out of my response and respond to that even though it had nothing to do with the larger point I was trying to make. They refused to have a real debate.

Just scanning through the thread you linked to, I can tell that these are the same kind of people I had to deal with. You aren't going to get through to them, dont waste your time.

12. Why do they think Obama is ruining the middle class?
It's hard to respond because they make no sense. I really don't know what they are talking about.

A gardening forum? When did those become political?

13. I don't like talking to garage doors...that's what these types are...
They go up and down...up and down. That's what it feels like when I've tried discussing issues with them. It's a waste of time.

14. You have one on there that insists that the rich getting
richer has nothing to do with the poor getting poorer. You could point out that there is only so much money...for the rich to get richer - it has to come from somewhere... so the rich get richer when the poor and middle class buy their products (spending = getting poorer) this is redistribution or if you will capitalism - if the rich hoard it all and not invest, purchase or get it collected in taxes and since the rich are not investing or buying - that leaves taxing...when the rich are taxed, they don't want to pay additional taxes - so they expand business (because the cash then stays an asset on their net worth and they don't have to pay taxes on cash used for expansion) there is a shortage of money from the hoarding and offshore accounts...you can't just keep printing more money to make up for the hoarding because that leads to inflation...
