I find the fact that Geithner went to see Stewart because 'Stewart is influential' to be really sad. He's a comedian! Are they now trying to influence entertainers that people have come to trust?

Well, I already lost a lot of respect for Stewart, I guess they thought he could get away with attacking Keith, wrong assumption on their part. Now I will not really trust him again as it is apparent he is having private meetings with high government officials. That really is creepy.

Reminds me of Bush and Dennis Miller.

Oh well, another one bites the dust as far as being trustworthy.

As for Jon not caring about people's opinion of him, he'll fit right in with the inside/DC crowd, they don't care either.

tells me all I need to know. When Dennis Miller rode in AF 1 with Bush, he certainly lost all credibility on the left. The right of course, saw nothing wrong with it. The end results, proved that the left was correct.

I, myself, enjoyed the rally, think it was useful overall, but had misgivings about it.

I have been disappointed in Jon lately. His interview with John Yoo was awful, as was his interview with Condoleeza Rice. He was harder on Obama than either of them and they are war criminals.

16. Jon's Own Equivelency Game

Still seems people miss the point about how our cables have turned politics into a bloodsport. There is the overall false equivelency game that Stewart usually calls out and is the one the talking heads inside the beltway play...and again, this was another focus of that rally. Not the content as much as the tone. But for those who don't like Stewart or just need another reason to get pissed, they'll see and hear what they want to.

Stewart tries to be nice to his guests...he's one of the few shows where rushpublicans will go on. He tries to cut with a smile...to be cordial to his guests. Usually when he does really confront, it's put up on the website and edited out of the show. I think a good part of this is to keep peace with his bookers and publicity people who arrange these interviews and in return he gets a relative pass on other shows...remember, he's got a book to promote.

11. I have to believe in my heart that Jon is not a conservative.

I know that his job on his show is to satirize everyone. But all those people (betting mostly left leaning) at his rally plus those watching at home. What a wasted opportunity to take a stand, endorse a progressive agenda and then fire people up to get out and vote. I think ever since his appearance, followed by the disappearance of Crossfire, he has taken himself and his power a little too seriously. Except where it could have done some real good. Then he reverts back to "Hey, I'm just a fake news guy on a cable comedy show." I still enjoy his show but this isn't the first time I've detected a dickish side to his off the show personality.
