Sarah Palin ruined 2008 elections for Republicans, says Bush
London, Nov 6 : Former US President George W. Bush believes that Sarah Palin was the reason behind Republican Party's 2008 remorseful election campaign.

Bush reportedly told friends that the Alaska governor is not qualified to be a president and criticized John McCain for picking her as his running mate in 2008.

"Naming Palin makes Bush think less of McCain as a man. He thinks McCain ran a lousy campaign with an unqualified running mate and destroyed any chance of winning by picking Palin," the Telegraph quoted a Republican official close to Bush, as telling the New York Daily News.

Bush has also been disparaging about Palin in the past.

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey to promote his book, 'Decision Points', Bush restricted from any forecast of 2012 elections, in which Palin is being considered as a strong contender.

"I am not a political pundit. I'm really not. And secondly, a lot is gonna happen between now and the nominating process. I have no clue," he said.

1. i thought his book was called "Decision Pants"
Like he would be sitting in the Oval Office and say, "Somebody get me my Decision Pants! I got to do some decidin'!"

Then a staffer brings him a pair of dirty sweatpants with the crotch blown out, he puts them on, squints, and says, "Saddam, you tried to kill my daddy and you are brown! I'm gonna send my Army guys to get you!"

4. This is the first time since 2008 that he's been sober enough to KNOW
who was on the GOP ticket that year.

...just sayin'...

10. Everybody picks on Sarah Palin but this is ridiculous ...
John McCain was a worn out old man that was picked by the Republican Party as the 2008 version of Bob Doyle. He was a stumbling, bumbling old Republican establishment character that faced a challenge from a much younger, far more vigorous and charismatic speaker who promised change.

The Bush administration had managed to run the economy into the ground and couldn't hold off the collapse until the Democrats gained power. In desperation McCain decided to pick a unknown candidate as VP. It was a Hail Mary pass.

When Bush the Junior wants to find out who lost the 2008 election, all he has to do is look in the mirror. Blaming Sarah Palin merely makes him look like the small man he is. I love his quote, "I have no clue." That's just as true today as it was when he was President. If he had a clue, we would have stayed out of Iraq and he would have seen the upcoming economic collapse.

19. I agree but the reason that McCain picked her was desperation ...
It was a "maverick" move.

But McCain was desperate because it was obvious that he was facing a charismatic opponent and because he also had to know that the economy would take a massive dump just before the election.

If Bush would have been a good President he would have realized that the greed on Wall Street was out of hand and eventually would doom the country to a serious recession. But Bush as usual was uninvolved. He was listening to his advisers from Goldman Sachs.

Has Goldman Sachs Taken Over the Bush Administration?
Published on Sunday, August 20, 2006

When US President George W. Bush stepped forward to announce his new treasury secretary on May 30, a few Goldman Sachs friends likely knew Henry Paulson had the job.

Paulson was not the first Goldman executive to join the Bush administration from the 137-year-old investment bank described by the president as one of America's "most respected firms".

In fact, he was following in the well-heeled footsteps of three other former Goldman alumni who answered Bush's call, although Stephen Friedman who briefly headed the White House National Economic Council, has since returned to "the firm" as it is known on Wall Street.

Aside from running a billion-dollar bank, it is also likely that Paulson's political donations of tens of thousands of dollars to Republican senators added to his luster.

The "revolving door" between the corporate world and government is nothing new, but Goldman leads the way by far in terms of its managers infiltrating the White House and other top government posts.

Of course, many believe Bush was merely a puppet dancing on strings pulled by his corporate masters.

But no matter weather he was just uninvolved or a puppet, much of the reason for the Republicans loss in 2008 was Bushes incompetence as President. His blaming Sarah Palin is a cop out.

16. Palin might have helped in people's decision not to vote
republican, but there is no way after the way he ruined this country that people were going to vote republican. He is just trying to blame the fact that he was an incompetent dumbass, typical wimpy egotistic POS that never knew how to run or govern anything. All he wanted was the power and glory. And to pretend he was sitting on the right hand of God.

20. Just an early salvo
Remember: Gawdzilla from Wasilla got her Maidenforms all in a bunch just last week when it was alleged that there is a cabal of actual Repiglickens who are out to make sure she isn't the 2012 nominee. At the time, Mooselini complained that she was being torn "limb by limb." This is probably a little bit of that.
