1. To anyone who knows MO, this map comes as not the slightest surprise. You see,

in many ways Missouri perfectly resembles in miniature the United States: it has two Blue "coasts," KC & St Louie, with a broad swath of Red in the middle. Roughly half of the population is congregated around those two Blue metropolises.

This last election, as it did all over the U.S. writ-large, merely magnified those political and ideological differences state-wide.

I have family in West Plains, Willow Springs, Mountain View, Houston, and Springfield, where I lived for 15 of perhaps the worst months of my life ....

While it was extremely important that I leave that place, I think my other family members should stay in that all-enveloping red menace .... It would be proper ...
