Well, I don't know about anyone else, but my grieving period is about over and it's about ready to be turned into a tremendous, "Screw YOU" toward the our foes.

See, the over reach is starting all ready - not only with their daily power grab attempts, but in telling the Dems what they should or should not do (Cantor suggesting who in the House should represent the Dems - that's the Dems' job, not this turds!).

So let's face it folks - these asses only won ONE part of elective government, okay? Of course they are trying to scare the Dems into submission and act like they won the Senate and Presidency, too, but they did not.

It's time to quit moping and start fighting back and move on.

1. If we fight back as actual Democrats,
we'll keep the Senate and the Presidency and stand a good chance of recapturing the House.

2. The national media is corporate and the Republicans are selfish and greedy. One and the same.

3. Since 2006 the Dems have won 7 elections, the GOP 1.
That's the way I look at it.

5. They took 680 seats from us at the local level which means they control redistricting.
I would count that as having lost 2 of 4.

Good ole Hawaii replaced our Republican Governor and Representative and whittled down Senate Republicans from 2 to 1. We and California are the best stories for Dems out of this election.

17. All State Constitutional Offices, All 5 US house seats, and both houses of State legislature.
And the Senate seat that was up for grabs.

6. the exact same reason that they translated a court appointed president
into a mandate.

Democracy is dead. It died some time ago.

Personally, I consider the 2 parties to be opposite sides of the same coin. I'm not buying either of them any more.

7. the media

if you work for a republican owner-you dance to their tune or change your profession!
controlled media equals less people watching the news and more watching an alternative program! with cable and satellite TV you have many alternatives!

10. Watch how fast the Democrats cave.
And remember, when they do, it's because they *want to*. They've been bending over backwards to find excuses for pushing corporate legislation since 2006 and they've finally got an excuse that's not completely absurd on it's face.

12. Am I mistaken by thinking that the thugs just won the HOUSE
and not the Senate? In order for anything to become law, it does have to go through the Senate after it passes the house?? or did I miss something. So whatever they pass in the house, the Senate can vote it down, right?

14. Democrats can keep anything passed in the House from even coming to a vote in the Senate.
Edited on Sun Nov-07-10 11:07 AM by elocs
Even if the Republicans capture the Senate in 2012, which mathematically seems likely, and Obama get reelected, nothing will get passed into law over his veto.

13. the Republicans at least know how to act like they won. When the Dems did win the trifecta...
they practically apologized and gave the keys to the car back to the GOP.

16. Scare tactics!
They want to try and shape the idea that if democrats don't cave into their demands, because they have POWER, those democrats will be voted out in 2012 in another "sweep" like this last one! It's pure BS, and the facts show that those democrats that get voted out in the senate were those who voted "against" the other democrats on major bills! If democrats stand up to them and put them in their place, after all democrats are still in charge of the senate, and we have a democrat in the WH, they can squash the republicans plan to make Obama a one term president in it's tracks!

18. Just the place for a Snark! I have said it twice: That alone should encourage the crew.
"Just the place for a Snark! I have said it twice:
That alone should encourage the crew.
Just the place for a Snark! I have said it thrice:
What I tell you three times is true."

They're firmly of the belief that they can create their own reality, and judging from the compliance and relentlessness of the compliant media, it's hard to argue the point.

They say over and over again crap that simply isn't true, and the sheer repetition lends it credence.

They tell us over and over that the 2nd Amendment was created so people could rise up against their government, which is simply not true.

They tell us again and again that we're a Christian country, and that the First Amendment is simply to keep any particular sect from having control, when the wording is VERY clear and historical evidence from the writers is incontrovertible that the intent is that Government is not to endorse the very concept of belief at all, even to the extent of not "agreeing" that there is a supreme being.

Over and over they'll say that this is a repudiation of the Democratic Party, and they'll even cheapen the very name of our party by dropping the last two letters, and we'll go along with it. Look at the word "liberal" it's been vilified endlessly for the last decades, and spineless people run from it, clinging to the mealy-mouthed placeholder "progressive".

They sought it with thimbles, they sought it with care;
They pursued it with forks and hope;
They threatened its life with a railway-share;
They charmed it with smiles and soap.

After all, it IS a time of nonsense...
