more or less said "fuck you" to the bosses at MSNBC? His personality quirks and ego have widely been reported on in the past in a variety of places, so what if he knew the policy of giving money and just more or less dared MSNBC to do something?

Also, we need to get off the "well, the other people did it, too," because it looks like while the other people did it, then they either had permission to do so or asked to do so first.

Now, what would be interesting is if KO asked to give money and was refused and he did this out of spite because the Republicans on MSNBC have all ready been given the green light to give money.

Unfortunately, KO owes his consistent viewers an explanation and possibly even an apology. (And yes, I signed the petition and watch his show regularly).

Ps...did anyone else notice how he actually was the "lead" moderator on election night coverage? Wonder how that sat with Tweety.

I thank KO for his effort on her behalf and for his donation to Grijalva too. It was on the KO show that Grijalva first announced his "boycott". Keith almost goaded him into it. As I remember, he asked Raul, "Would you support a boycott?"
Perhaps KO felt a little guilty when that boycott thing ended up being the main Repub talking point against him in the very close race.

We won't hear anything till at least next week.

Right now IMHO we have 2 powerful men in a pissing contest. We'll see who blinks. And I hope there was some cooling off period for both men.

Griffin has a huge problem because MSNBC just built this Lean Forward campaign around their liberal hosts. Also it may take a couple of days of shitty ratings to have the bosses above Griffin to tell him to give in. They are not going to like to having to rebate ad buyers who don't get the eyeballs they were promised in the Countdown slot. While KO may not be the big dog he once was in the lineup he is still the linchpin. A weak 8PM hour disrupts the lineup and will screw some of Rachel's ratings. Also there may be many liberals who decide to boycott the whole lineup.

KO may have to do an on-air mea culpa to allow all to save face in this one. I know he has a huge ego & principles. Question is will he?

Going to be an interesting week. Keep fighting DU & liberals to keep the pressure on MSNBC!

Personally, my favorite bit of conspiratorial theorizing centers on the interesting timing of this, given Jon Stewart's attack on Keith at the 10/30/10 rally. You'll recall that after that event, KO voluntarily ended his WPITW segments via a special comment. Then, within just a matter of days, this axe fell.

9. The difference in the past and right now - as far as KO is concerned - is that he is accustomed to

the money. House payments, car payments, etc. Most of these wealthy people do not have money stashed away to keep up the life style to which they have become accustomed to. Thus they are vulnerable to having to do what the boss says.

MSNBC probably has him tightly locked in to a non-compete contract till end of his contract.

However I wonder if MSNBC has opened itself up to a lawsuit since there is evidence of other hosts contributing. Especially in light of Joe Scar's and the comment they consider that ok since his is opinion and not journalism. Might be the case even if Joe Scars cleared. Then there was one report that the clause said "should" not "must" clear the contributions.

Of course taking a media company to court does not endear one to be hired by another media company.

I just hope cooler heads prevail next week and both sides can reconcile to bring KO back ASAP to Countdown.
