Arianna Huffington: No GOP winner says they will touch "defense spending"
Arianna Huffington: Sunday Roundup

This is the first year I tweeted my way through a long Election Night and Election Morning After. I started things off before the polls closed: "Going to be a long night. I'll stay awake by practicing saying 'Speaker Boehner,' 'Senator Rubio,' and 'Senator Paul' with a Greek accent." As the GOP wave rolled across the country: "Haven't heard a single GOP winner say he/she would touch defense spending. Good luck with that budget deficit." When the wave stopped in Nevada: "I guess we'll never find out what Sharron Angle thinks of the two wars we're fighting." Then, sifting through the post-election ashes: "28 Blue Dogs lost. I wonder if they're now reconsidering their efforts to trim the stimulus and make it less effective." and "Sen. DeMint to Tea Party: 'you must now overcome determined party insiders.' Good luck, Mitch McConnell!" 140 characters never felt so shellacked. Thank God there are 730 days left until the next Election Night!

1. Actually
Rand Paul said he would on TV today! He said he thought he could reach across the isle on this and get support from democrats! I think a lot of the "real" tea party members of congress are not happy with the military budget and want to cut it. This will be another of the many issues that the tea party will disagree on with the republicans. The infighting is going to happen very soon after they all get sworn in!

2. Thats not a surprise. He is Ron Paul's son.
Both are pretty consistent on the federal government doing much at all about anything, including defense.
