"FAMILY OF SECRETS"
http://www.amazon.com/Family-of-Secrets-ebook/dp/B003NSBMNA/ref=kinw_dp_ke?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2

That book has received much praise here on DU, but my nest is overflowing with printed material, and I've made a conscious decision to cease buying any more books for a while. Consequently all my purchases have been limited to Audible.com or e-text books. I just now checked Amazon and that book is now available for Kindle, and I just now purchased it! I don't have a Kindle device, but I'm using "Kindle for PC". Give the reviews a good look-over and consider buying it.

1. Wife has the dead tree version.
She won't let me near it until she's done, though. Pisser, since I'm the one who bought it (iirc).

4. For less than $10.00, consider the getting the Kindle version too!
It'll not only play on your PC (or MAC), but also on some pocket devices.

3. The ad to the left for
'The Profiteer', I checked it out at Amazon only 1 review but, it looks interesting. Like an Onion piece.

Also was thinking about Family of Secrets but, nest here is over flowing into bookcases in the garage. It's a lending library around here, which is fine by me. Unless it vanishes and I haven't yet read it. :(

6. Got it. Dog-eared and book-marked.
Too many apologies for Nixon in there, for a 100% recommend. Worth the read, still, but caveat emptor.

7. Dave Emory did a 5-part podcast series on the book with Russ Baker --> link to archives
http://wfmu.org/playlists/DX

i don't really know what to make of Emory -- i stumbled on him b/c of this series. Worth a listen, for sure. Totally disagree with his take on Wikileaks, though.

8. Never heard of him until now, although I probably should have.
Here's his`Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Emory

He sounds as though we may have some shared beliefs, but I've learned to treat such people with some caution. But thanks for the lead.

10. I just wanted to K&R-to combat W's new book of lies...
got an email from Democrats.com

(snip)The "Architect" of stolen election 2010 was Karl Rove. He raised and spent hundreds of millions in secret money, sat at FOX spinning lies, and ran smear attack ads to defeat Democrats and elect a new generation of rightwing Republicans who are loyal to him.

Who is Karl Rove? The mastermind of the Bush Empire and strategist for the billionaires and bureaucrats behind it. Where did Rove's money come from? The same billionaires and bureaucrats who put the Bushes in power for 12 years - and are determined to do it again.

(snip)George W. Bush himself struck back this week with the pre-release of "Decision Points," which hit #1 on Amazon even before its release. He's desperate to rewrite history since he created such historic disasters during his eight long years in power

That's why we're doing a "Book Bomb" to replace Bush's lies now at the top of Amazon with Russ Baker's truth (just $13.60 on Amazon):
Family of Secrets: the Bush Dynasty, America's Invisible Government and the Hidden History of the Last Fifty Years

I'd like to add-when this book first came out,I was broke, so I asked my library to get it and they did! So, if you're low on funds, it's an idea.

11. Looks like a good read, and I love the idea of an anti-Bush Book Bomb
to counteract his current " History Rewritten Tour".
