hmm ... "Ohio principal loses pay over political field trip "
Edited on Sun Nov-07-10 07:30 PM by zbdent
it's really interesting how there's not much sympathy for the principal getting punished for going to an elections board is gathering ... read the comments section. I didn't bother going past the first one, where the "reader" said "Good!"

http://www.ohio.com/news/politics/106695238.html

The principal was suspended because an anti-tax group called the trip "one-sided", and claims surfaced that the students were given sample "Democratic" ballots at the local board of elections.

1. Not enough information to comment
Why were they given Democratic ballots and not Republican ballots? Whose decision was it to give them the ballots? What district policy did they violate?

3. hmm
The district's statement announcing the suspensions did not refer to the political issues. It said that the suspension of Rhodes was based on violations of district policy, including failure to follow district procedure when authorizing transportation, failure to follow procedure for background checks for chaperones and drivers and allowing students to be transported in donated vans without proper supervision.

You have to wonder if they would have investigated at all if there hadn't been a complaint.

Interesting story. Thanks for posting.

5. GOP declined to give them a sample ballot.
It's a lot of BS, blown up to look like some extreme democratic partisanship

4. If a charter school had done this,, with repug ballots
people might think it was wrong.

But principles are not something a lot of folks care about anymore, just politics and partisan shit.

If I post something negative about public schools there are some here who think I have an agenda, all the while they are posting negative things about home schooling and charter schools every chance they get and saying 'we are just reporting the facts'.
