Heritage Foundation Hate Children, Wants to Make Abortion the Only Affordable Option in Texas
So, the Heritage Foundation is advising Texas Republicans to opt out of Medicaid as a way to ease their $25 billion budget shortfall wracked up under spendthrift GOP Governor Rick Perry. The right wing think tank claims that the second most populous state in the union can save almost $10 billion a year if it stops paying its part of Medicaid. Of course, the feds would stop sending Texas $12-15 billion a year in matching funds. But hey, what’s not to like about slashing the state budget by $10 billion without having to cut corporate welfare, which is handed out in the form of (unnecessary) public works projects, tax abatements and bad investments of the State’s Teachers Retirement Fund money?

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/07/us/politics/07ttmedicaid.html?_r=1

I can just imagine the discussion among GOP big wigs.

Damn pests! All they do is eat up our savings with their school lunches and teachers’ salaries and new clothes every year! Dirty, snotty nosed little brats! The state would be much better off without them!

Oh yeah, baby! Let’s hear it for the adults only state of Texas!

Sarcasm aside, for those folks who do not know much about Medicaid, here are some facts:

Seventy percent of the enrollees in the Texas Medicaid program are children !

There is no one in the program who is not either 1) a child, 2) pregnant, 3) elderly or 4) disabled.

http://www.hhsc.state.tx.us/medicaid/reports/PB7/BookFiles/The%20Medicaid%20Numbers.pdf

In addition to all those freeloading children eating up our tax dollars with their frivolous health care----A bout of tetanus never hurt any child!----harlots are costing the state big time. You know, those girls who could not keep their legs together. Those Jezebels expect tax payers to pick up the bill to pay for their prenatal vitamins (to prevent spina bifida) and their prenatal visits (to prevent preemie births) and their STD screening (to prevent HIV, Hep B and other infected babies)----

Have they no shame?! Who wants their misbegotten progeny? Not the state of Texas. Forgot about expedited Medicaid enrollment for pregnant women.

http://www.hhsc.state.tx.us/medicaid/mc/proj/preg/preg.html

In the leaner, meaner state of Texas, it will be cheaper to abort that baby. Last year, Texas paid for 170,000 pregnancies.

http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/famplan/tpp.shtm

If conservatives have their way, next year, those 170,000 new lives will be flushed down the drain. Wow! That will more than double the number of abortions that are performed in the state each year. Talk about a growth industry.

Any women who does not feel like getting herself down to Abortions R Us for a quick vacuum extraction will just have to suffer the consequences if her baby is born premature with birth defects. The state will not be picking up the bill for its Neonatal ICU care and its ongoing medical problems.

Oh, and granny who had the stroke so she had to move to a nursing home? She will be out on the street to die, pronto. Texas spends about $2 billion a year to allow the elder to live out their remaining---profitless---years in comfort and dignity. Filthy old leeches! Where is a good ice flow when you need one?

I can not imagine why the right wing did not make this their number one campaign promise in the weeks leading up to the midterm elections. Let's hear it for good, old family values like infanticide and mercy killings!

2. There must be a Swiftian solution in there somewhere.
Some way to make the preservation of fetuses financially sustainable.

13. Yeah. Since the fat cats are already fat
slaughter them and sell the meat to China to help our balance of trade.

"A Delicate Proposal" By Johnathan Swift.
Very apt in this day and time.
Can be found in Project Gutenburg.

3. Texans have decided that a sick baby is appropriate punishment for
being a loose woman.

Tell me again - who would Jesus neglect unto death?

5. TX will become the sentinel state for the barbarism of defunding
Medicaid. Texas will become the cruelest and poorest state to live in so the wealthy can keep a few more dollars, then go to church feeling good about how successful they are.

6. We may be headed
for something called the Surplus Population Management and Control Act or something like that one of these days soon. Of course, it will be an act Congress, under the Department of Homeland Security and privately administered at public expense by the Corrections Corporation of America.

7. We are always lacking when it comes to framing the debate
and for the last few days since I heard of this abomination from the Texas Republican Party, the only three words I will use and I will use them often and they are not pretty nor are they comfortable words ...genocide, ethnic cleansing and holocaust. 3.6 million people and 70% of them are children. 3.6 million people is equal to the population of Houston. What kind of monsters are these people? We already know. And if we remain silent, then we are just becoming good Germans.

11. Back in the 80's and 90's
when I was working as a nurse in an inner-city teaching hospital, I would volunteer to help take care of the AIDS patients, my former brother in law had AIDS, so I felt no fear. One time taking care of a patient who was in isolation (simply because he had AIDS) offered me a piece of pizza that his SO had brought in. I accepted it with thanks and I still remember the smiles on their faces finding someone who didn't think of them as untouchables. I fucking hate the Republican's and the Republican Party and the InsaniTEA Party for what they have done to this country.

8. The Party of Christian Values...
...shows precious few of them.

Texans must be really stupid. 170,000 pregnancies paid for by Medicaid! It's about time they stopped teaching absinence education down there. It clearly isn't working.

9. I awoke one Sunday morning in San Antonio to learn that one in three Texans is uninsured
in San Antonio itself, the nation's eighth-largest city, that figure rises to more than half.

Imagine what those figures would be like without Medicaid! :scared:

12. I'll just have to keep repeating till everybody catches on
Whatever the Bushies and Repocons and their spawn accuse the Dims of is what they themselves are planning.

So here we have the death panels even more obviously than in Republican castrated Health plan. Notice how THEY are the ones suggesting pulling the plug on grandmaw.
Will the Spineless Dims and Obama attack that? Probably not. It takes to much guts.

Just a side note the majority of disabled, especially those born disabled, already live in extreme poverty. It is not their fault they are disabled, but this country treats them like shit, anyway.
We don't educate them, we don't train them, and we don't want to see or hear them, much less spend "our" money on them.

"A Modest Proposal"

Instead of fattening Irish Catholic babies as Swift satirically suggested, I propose mincing American fat cats and selling them off to help the balance of trade.

Nevada is also thinking of Opting Out. I think this has a lot to with immigration, poor and illegal workers have no insurance other than Medicaid. Ounce you cut it off free insurance they will move, the housing bubble is over, run them out of the state like they did in Arizona. Now many other states will be overrun by illegals, notice they want to do it after the Census.
