For those not familiar with why this is a desirable drink vs. domestic drinks, it is because they use REAL sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, which arguably for many people is better for you, and also in fact I believe tastes better as well.
Just picked up a case tonight. When I first saw it there, I thought for a minute that they'd replaced Mexican Coke with Mexican Pepsi, since Costco has had a recent flap with the Coca Cola company that had them not sell anything for a while from that company, and later lead them to changing all of their food court soft drinks to Pepsi company drinks from Coca Cola company drinks.
I actually still prefer Coca Cola, but I thought I'd at least try it out to see how it tastes. But for those of you who prefer Pepsi, perhaps you now have an option that has regular sugar and don't have to worry about having to find "Throwback Pepsi" out there somewhere, which I think was a promotional thing. If enough people buy it, perhaps Costco will stock it regularly like they do Mexican coke now.
I also want to have an option perhaps for political reasons as well. If one looks at the recent documentary "The Coca Cola Case (
http://www.greenmuze.com/reviews/films/2230-the-coca-cola-case-review-.html ), there's been some pretty violent union busting activity with some elements of the Coca Cola company in South America and in other countries.
On a side note, for those of you who look for political books unsuccessfully at Costco, which seems to be subsidized only to carry crap written by Sarah Palin, Michael Savage, Glen Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Karl Rove, etc., etc. there is ONE book that I found today worth getting, which is the book "Fair Game" in paperback by Valerie Plame with the new cover on it that has a picture from the new movie "Fair Game" poster on the cover.
Perhaps if EVERYONE bought a copy of this and sold it out, then we'd send a message that Costco could do a LOT better with book sales if they sold something targeted to us (who makes up a big part of their customer base) for a change.
