Good ol' Daryl Issa
I have yet to figure what the hell he was doing in my neck of the woods the other day, but at the coffee shop he introduced himself and then started going over the HORROR of the spending on this trip to India.

So... I could not help myself, and quite frankly called him on it.

"Congressman that is interesting, but you know that is PART OF THE BUDGET for the VC-25 that is tasked with the operatio of both AF 1 and Marine 1. You also KNOW that every President since Reagan has received that Protection Package when travelling abroad. So why the outrage?"

He started to protest about well the outrageous spending starting with Mexico City.

So I kindly reminded him that it was a high threat area since the Cartels are suspected of having a few Stingers, that we sold to the Taliban and somehow have found their way to the Cartels (That is not something most people know, in fact I suspect very few people know... don't ask)

I swear, he walked out coffee in hand no more words said. It was like watching a puppy hurt.

As hubby pointed out he was trying the story and CNN like destroyed it the next day...

Coincidence?

4. Well the local grognards were left speechless
and then one asked if I wasn't afraid of talking to people like Daryl (and I suspect what he was doing in the neighborhood)...

I pointed out I was just correcting an unruly employee. A temp if you will.

12. nah about correcting them at local coffee shops
one of our local senators was going over how bad taxes are and all that shit. Had the crows like enthralled.

So I decided to interrupt and asked him a very unkind question?

Senator I get it, you want to drive taxes to zero, and that's a good thing. I mean I will be able to spend money like I want to.

Yes, exactly

So tell me since my taxes pay your salary are you working for free or WHO is paying your salary?

There was silence. You know exactly what I accused him off, and not like he could say a thing... funny, has not been back to that starbucks, ran and lost to Fiorina as well... and if you thought Fiorina was bad.. this guy would be ten times as bad.

16. i wish you would send this intormation to Bill Maher
Issa was on his show Friday night, and came across as so reasonable. I believe he even denounced the "controversy" surrounding this trip. And Bill went pretty easy on him.

Bill needs to know what a lying, hypocritical, fucking bastard Issa really is.

18. He's also been suspected for arson as well...
Most likely for insurance fraud... And as others have noted frequently, his brother was a known car thief and there have been unexplained incidents he was with his brother where car theft was likely happening...

22. Here's a brief rundown of the asshattery topics that dominated Issa's '09 townhall.
Edited on Sun Nov-07-10 11:52 PM by MrsCorleone
1) Czars
2) Birth certificates
3) The government is taking over healthcare
4) The bill has too many pages
5) Czars
6) Socialists!
7) Did I mention Czars?
8) Government is the problem
9) Healthcare works best in a free market
10) Deregulate, deregulate, deregulate

I found it interesting that the majority of attendees were white and clearly of retirement age. A local RW corporate radio host promoted and MC'd the event, so it was no surprise that the most rabid of white teabaggers came out to participate. I even met a real life Palin supporter. What a treat! Although this district has a very large Hispanic and military population, there were only a few in attendance. I wonder if the rest were even notified.

Despite temperatures of around 90 degrees that day, in an auditorium packed primarily of the elderly, the air conditioning was left off. The heat was unbearable even for me, and it was obvious that the seniors were not faring well at all. It was clear that Issa and the RW radio host wanted to keep the event brief and, I suppose, this was one way to thin out the crowd quickly.

The whole thing was a sick joke on his constituents. It is hard to believe that someone of such obvious asshattery holds any serious position in our government. It's a f*cking embarrassment, not to mention harmful to the people.

24. We all have to be ready to do this
on a moments notice.

You never know when you will have an opportunity to do this. And after the elections I think he believed nobody would question the new chairman of the Oversight Committee.
