Obama on 60 Minutes now blames his 'disagreeable tone' for election losses??
I would love to know exactly when Obama points to as an example when his tone was 'disagreeing without being disagreeable'. I don't recall a time he raised his voice for anything.

While Obama stopped short of expressing public regrets about specific policy decisions, he continued the tone of contrition that he set in a televised news conference the day after Tuesday’s midterm elections saw Republicans recapture the House and narrow the Democratic majority in the Senate.

“Part of my promise to the American people when I was elected was to maintain the kind of tone that says we can disagree without being disagreeable. And I think over the course of two years, there have been times where I’ve slipped on that commitment,” the president said. He did not appear to offer specifics.

1. Maybe he meant he was disagreeable toward republicans in private. I think he should have been
MUCH more disagreeable, however.

Another boneheaded PR disaster this week from the White House.

24. Your hate for Obama makes you blind to reality.
Educate yourself:

http://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/statistics/product/enduse/exports/c5330.html

I would be willing to guess that any business in this country would be chomping at the bit to increase their exports to one of the largest and fastest-growing economies on Earth.

Those numbers represent real Americans, working real jobs, dependent on export trade.

31. "your hate for Obama"....what a great conversation starter.

In any case, the point is that perception is reality, and coming out with that statement without a LOT of explanation to a hurting Joe and Sally Sixpack is known as tone-deaf, and his timing sucks as usual. Later.

Guess it's a one-way street, with you tripping over those pesky 'facts' thingies.

Obama is right on this trade deal, and you, as usual, are completely and totally wrong.

Damn gubbamint facts.

7. Maybe this is aimed at the base on the left that he liked to insult
and that didn't vote in such high numbers as a result.

He And Gibbs both certainly said some disagreeable things things to people on the left a couple of times.

He's certainly smart enough to see cause and effect there. But will this mean an end to insulting democrats, even if they are on his left? Or perhaps especially if they are on his left? Time will tell.

8. When was he disagreeable?
This makes NO sense. The boldest moment of Obama disagreeableness was during the State of the Union Address when he castigated the SCOTUS. I can think of no other incident. Seems to me that Obama has been the most agreeable president of all time, especially considering the nature of his opposition.

10. It reminded me of what one says in an interview as to why they lost their last job.
But I was kinda of miffed to think that THIS was what came to the top of his head rather than him saying that the loss was due to the fact that he wasn't loyal to the Progressive platform which he ran upon and to the Progressive base which got him elected in the first place.

16. Three words that hurt him and the Dems...
"No Public Option"

Over 76% of the general public wanted single payer or, at a minimum, a public option. He stiffed the greater majority and suffered the consequences. Other factors were involved too, but there is no question that he took a major hit over the outcome of health insurance reform.

21. I was very disappointed with the interview
especially since he doesn't seem to understand why his health care reform failed to thrill the electorate. He even admitted he pushed what was a Republican health care plan in order to get votes that he didn't get regardless. Honestly, it was a wake-up call and he doesn't get it.

23. This man is completely tone deaf,
Either that or he simply doesn't care. Of course he doesn't have to care, he's set for life. Even if he lose his 2012 election bid, he's got great health care benefits, a comfy pension plan that pays him nearly a half million a year, Secret Service detail, and all kinds of other benefits and perks.

He doesn't have to live with the consequences of his fuck ups, sadly, the rest of us do.
