With our ping-pong elections every 2 years, and the multiple-personality disorder that our country seems to be manifesting, we will probably not see much changing for the better, anytime soon.
The congress is afraid to do much more than bluster when it comes to real life-changing legislation, and most of it is written in disappearing ink.. lacking enough to matter, but always filled with loopholes for ne'er-do-wells to wriggle through at will.
What legislation does manage to survive is always a SCOTUS decision-away from being scrapped or sent back for more devious tweaking.
The SCOTUS we have will probably be with us for another 25-30 years , with the exception of possibly 3 replacements that could happen at any time..
It's a fun-fact that the four most onerous "justices" have first name initials that spell out RATS:
Roberts Alito Thomas Scalia
