Unfortunately, he wasn't talking about refusing to pursue al-Qaeda in Iraq with adequate troop strength, or tossing the army into Iraq over made up WMD rumors and outright lies about Osama-Saddam connections. Cheney was talking about Bush not pardoning Scooter Libby. "A solider on the battlefield." In the war against the Constitution, that is.

There's a happy ending to all this, of course.

Bush said he worried the incident would fracture his friendship with Cheney. But he said: "I'm pleased to report we are friends today."

Meanwhile, Iraq remains blown to bits, riddled with the demons & terrors Bush & Cheney unleashed, and still thousands of Iraqis have to live with the injuries and mutilations our pointless occupation brought on them. If you're a Bush, that's what you call a happy ending.
