I know that trade with India is set to make 50,000 jobs in the US through Boeing.
What I need is concrete resources for outsourcing, "insourcing" and shipment of jobs overseas/here.

1. GE's done it.

The sector in which I used to work started offshoring its technology jobs - from developers to PC techs to help desk support - to India and Mexico at least 8 years ago.

2. This may be too unwieldy to be useful, but

the AFL-CIO and Working America created a website that tracks companies who report off-shoring, etc (along with other tracking, like safety violations and such).

Harley-Davidson, the iconic American motorcycle brand with a cult-like following, has announced it has chosen to build its second assembly plant ever outside the United States in India.

The "complete knock down" plant or CKD is expected to be up and running in the northern Indian state of Haryana in first half of 2011. Parts made in America will be put together for the Indian market in Haryana.

8. I'll see if I can find it.. there is a list of companies

that were forced by Wal-Mart to outsource. The example I heard the other day on Thom Hartmann was Etch-A-Sketch which Wal-MArt refused to carry unless they got the price lower, which meant moving the factory to China to outsource the labor...

I can't remember last time I bought something labeled "made in the USA". I always look but seldom see anything.

17. I know at least Motorola

My mom worked there for several years before they close plants in the Phoenix area and went to China (according to her). They used to be the largest employer in the state, now it is Wal*Mart.
