How to verify a notary's signature???
A few weeks ago there were reports about the electronic notary system and the variance of signatures from supposedly the same notary. It seems if I recall, Obama's home mortgage deed was used as an example.

I've just seen the assignment of deed from MERS recorded on the same day as the notice of foreclosure proceedings. So I'm wondering how I can verify if there are discrepancies with this notary's signature, but I can't seem to find the right google phrase to get me to that point.

Any suggestions?

1. Notaries are governed by state laws and commissioned by state Treasurers

The Treasurer of the state in question would be the first place to look. Any query or complaint would be directed to the Treasurer's office.

2. Or the Secretary of State
Depending on the state, there are different agencies that commission notaries and monitor their activities. Your official state website should get you pointed to the right office and phone number.

5. I'm a notary in New Jersey...
...and we have to sign a register at the County Seat so your signature can be compared to anything you notarize.
