Poll question: Should Obama take a hard stance on Sunseting Bush Tax Rates?
Edited on Mon Nov-08-10 07:13 PM by Denninmi
My first poll, so please bear with me.

I was listening to a report on NPR tonight on my way home.

What struck me was this -- ANY offer of compromise with the GOP is always twisted around to be a weakness.

The GOP NEVER compromises.

Why should we compromise so that the rich can continue to pay lower rates? They get a far bigger benefit from the lower rates than we do.

I for one would FAR PREFER that Obama and the Dem's take a stand on this and say NO WAY to extending the tax cuts on the $250K and up earners, EVEN IF IT MEANS I HAVE TO PAY HIGHER TAXES, TOO.

NOTHING was ever fair about this "tax cut" in the first place, it overwhelmingly benefited the rich who got the eat the cake, while the rest of us were told to we should be happy scrounging the crumbs from the floor.

Finally, it seems that we live in a day when only raw power is respected, so I would like to see Obama and the Dem's start playing just as tough as the GOP have done to us for years now.

2. Middle class worker here.
I would be fine with my taxes going back to Clinton era rates, maybe a bit higher, if it would guarantee work.
