$65 million spent on Pelosi attack ads

Anti-Pelosi ads break records

Washington (CNN) - More money was spent and more commercials were run against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in this midterm election cycle than against any other congressional leader since Newt Gingrich.

More than $65 million was spent on 161,203 ads that targeted Pelosi from January 1 through last week's election, according to a new analysis of TV ads for CNN by Campaign Media Analysis Group.

The game plan by the GOP, individual campaigns, and independent groups that backed Republican candidates and causes, was simple: Tie as many Democratic incumbents and candidates to Pelosi, one of the most unpopular political figures in America right now. According to a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation national poll conducted the weekend before the midterms, only 26 percent of Americans had a favorable opinion of the House Speaker, with 53 percent saying they had an unfavorable view of Pelosi.

According to the CMAG analysis, individual campaigns accounted for nearly have of the $65 million, with independent groups that supported GOP candidates and issues spending more than $22 million and the Republican party chipping in more than $8 million.

The most ads (14,443) and the most money ($8.46 million) for ads targeting Pelosi were spent in Pennsylvania, where five House Democrats went down to defeat.

1. Just goes to show Americans can be bought.
Throw enough money at it, and the American people will buy whatever shit you tell them. Americans really need to wise up and stop being brainwashed sheep.

Nancy Pelosi was the most effective Speaker of the House in history. She should've been loved by the people for what she pushed through and got done. Instead, the very conglomerates that paid millions to vilify her because she went after their power and influence in America, get the credit and she gets shit.

Only in America.

6. And what is the problem they have with Nancy?
Far as I can tell it's that she's a Democrat and a woman-therefore unfit to hold a position of power.

8. Those two, but also the bills she's been able to pass through the House
that aren't exactly corporate friendly.

Unlike the American people, corporations are very united, and they're coming at her from all sides, using our "news" media {corporate propaganda machine} to vilify her.

Like she herself said, they hate her because "she's effective". And that's absolutely true.

5. Your Message Is Very Profound......
"No man should be so rich he has nothing left to buy but his government."

Makes me also think of Meg Whitman and her $140 million spend to become the Gov of Calif.

9. Well, in Whitman's case, I hope she has fun paying the campaign bills for failing to beat Brown.
The thought of her wasting so many millions in a fight that ultimately ended in failure for her makes me warm on these cold nights.

4. The Fux News machine destroyed Pelosi.
It's more of that pro-bullying culture that this country loves. It cannot get enough of it.
