Thank goodness for smart voters: Texas GOP Mulling Medicaid Withdrawal
Texas GOP Mulling Medicaid Withdrawal

The Texas GOP, which swept into the state legislature with overwhelming numbers last week, is mulling a complete withdrawal from Medicaid, a move which could leave millions of Texans without any health care coverage.

“With Obamacare mandates coming down, we have a situation where we cannot reduce benefits or change eligibility” to cut costs, said State Representative Warren Chisum, Republican of Pampa, the veteran conservative lawmaker who recently entered the race for speaker of the House. “This system is bankrupting our state,” he said. “We need to get out of it. And with the budget shortfall we’re anticipating, we may have to act this year.”

1. I wonder how they would feel if the federal government decided to move NASA out of Texas?
and since the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste dump has been killed in Nevada, Texas might be a viable candidate.

4. Put a nuclear waste facility where people have no healthcare?
Democrats could never live that down.

5. This has nothing to do with HCR, and everything to do with Texas' $25 billion dollar deficit
which far surpasses California's $12 billion dollar deficit, by the way.

The CONservatives in Texas are trying to hide behind "Look! There's a black man in the WH!" to cover the fact that conservatism has failed BIG TIME. That's why they have to cut benefits and are contemplating withdrawing from Medicaid.

When will those dimwit Texans wake up and realize CONservatism is a myth, and they're being had?

8. The word 'conservative' is absolute bullshit when Republicons use it
Republicons are borrow-and-spend radicals. That's How George AWOL Bush and Dickie 'Five-Military-Deferments' Cheney wrecked the US government finances and the US economy, and it's how Texas and California both screwed themselves so massively.

The word 'conservative' when applied to Republicons is total bullshit. They not only radically wrecked the economy, they radically wrecked the environment, and America's moral standing. Not a damn thing conservative about that.

19. It's a way of life in this state -
They might think about enacting income tax. Michael Dell, for instance, is reportedly worth 13.5 billion. Why does any one person need that much money when others are starving and homeless?

26. That's right. Texas doesn't have state income tax. Greed
is why Michael Dell and others are against state income taxes. They don't care about the starving, the homeless, the poor, the "weaker among them".

It's all about ME! ME! ME!

22. It IS a great place to live.
It all depends on your perspective.

And if I had to move, it would be to another country, not another state of the union.
