Over 700 Scientists Ready to Take On Climate Change Deniers in Congress and Media


One of the more startling views in a litany of extreme beliefs being brought to DC by a new class of congress is stark climate change denial--that's right, 50% of the new folks in congress flat-out don't believe that global warming is a threat.

The usually placid scientific community--well, at least some of it-- is mad as heck, and over 700 of them have signed on to a still-evolving effort and campaign to get the good science in front of the eyes of the American people. This includes the 700-member American Geophysical Union establishing a presence at the next major UN Climate Change Conference in Cancun this winter to speak to the press.

Another group is even assembling a "rapid-response team" of 40 or so scientists willing to show up even on unwelcoming conservative news programs and present their findings as fact, not opinion. ............(more)
