*CONFIRMED* Chemist: That’s BP oil on Southwest Florida beach — “Should put to rest any doubt”
over origin of 173 ppm oil found in sand near Sarasota

Comparison with BP-Macondo, Control Sample Chromatogram, Analytical Chemical Testing Laboratory, Inc., November 8, 2010:

The compared sample is a fingerprint MATCH

Comments by chemist Bob Naman regarding the chromatogram, via Testing the Water Citizen’s Initiative:

clearly confirmed a match and is highly accurate and should put to rest any doubt that the oil that we found was ‘sunscreen’, ‘motor oil’, or any other form of ‘naturally present’ contaminant.

2. I made the mistake of eating some shrimp the other night
it went through me like a dose of salts.

Its hard for me to fathom the damage that my generation (62 yo) has caused to the world when all we really set out to do was bring peace to that same world.
I thought I'd seen the light a few days after arriving in country Vietnam oh so many years ago, little did I realize what I seen was the spark of the creation of this catastrophe that man was to bring to fruit. At least I can be thankful to say I've been permitted to live long enough to realize this.

4. My son, who is 15, also realizes this. And he will have to live with it for all of his adult life.

6. Same thoughts here. Many in our generation have made a F'en mess of things. I only
hope it can be put back together. Many in our generation did the exact opposite to what many of us thought we were going to do in the 60's. Greed and unregulated capitalism go hand and hand.

8. There are posters on DU saying my posts are part of a scam
to redirect folks to sites soliciting money. Someone even said the FBI was investigating! Not investigating BP, but investigating those of us who are posting info on the ongoing criminal lack of accountability.

I am really getting annoyed at all the attempts to suppress and discredit information!

I really appreciate the fact you are sharing your experiences here. DUers on the Gulf coast are our real first alert system at this point. Thanks for posting.

17. If so, that's some seriously nasty intimidation.
Don't let anyone do it.

15. Simply put, there was a revolution in the 60's. We lost in this country, but we won in Europe.

7. Agree, but how will that come about. The wealth of this country is now
government = corporations and the political process is full of greed and corruption, just like many of the corps. Many Americans are still asleep at the wheel. They just don't get what is going on or lack the mentality to understand. It's become a ridiculous place. The goal is to merge the middle and lower classes with a wage level = to a third world country.

10. This kinda shit is gonna keep popping up

it's like a slow bleed. It will be ignored by the media and government, nothing to see here.

The problem is systemic, it is easily discernible throughout this continuing catastrophe. Why this happened, how it was handled, why it is being ignored, can all be laid at the feet of Capitalism.

We gotta get rid of Capitalism, how much of this shit can we, the Earth, take?

11. Thanks for posting this...I keep wondering about the Gulf...
all the ocean dwellers and those who live by the waters.

Yeah...my generation (I'm 61) started off so well...but so many got lost by the wayside of "I'll get mine, screw you".

This is so sad and will carry onto future generatons. What have we done?

Not by a long shot. We just have to choose our battles these days. Too many assaults from every direction.

20. Gees, I Live Just South Of Sarasota... And I Won't Touch Any Seafood
from around here. This is the pits and I KNEW it would "trickle down" from the get go. If not ON top of the water, at least UNDER the water. I can walk to the beach, but I've worried a LOT about this very same thing!

And BP says it's done EVERYTHING possible! Even seeing ads from people who live along the Gulf Coast from TX to FL saying how much better their business is now. My guess is that they are doing well because BP paid them LOTS AND LOTS of money to make that ad!

Just more lies and BP SUCKS!
