Burned Puppy Up for Adoption!
Fayetteville, N.C. — A puppy in Fayetteville, who authorities say was burned by his owner in July, is ready to be adopted, Cumberland County officials announced Tuesday.

The pit bill, named Red, was was 9 weeks old when he suffered burns, singe marks, blisters and gashes along his left hip and leg.

Tony Brian Knolle, 24, was accused of setting the dog on fire, following a dispute with his wife. He was charged with felony animal cruelty.

Animal Services has been given permission to put Red up for adoption, with the restriction that he may need to be brought in as evidence in the felony cruelty court case against Knolle, according to Animal Services Director John Lauby.

1. I would so take that in, but I've already got a Border Collie and a Sheltie.
I don't think it would survive an encounter with the Sheltie. She's a little territorial.

2. Wow, Border Collie and Sheltie!
Action packed! Wonderful dogs though. My little BC mix runs circles around my husband and I.

The pure evil of someone harming a puppy. We had two cases recently of men torturing puppies to death locally. In one instance he did so in front of his step children, and it was their puppy. Pure evil, they would do the same to a human no doubt. I would have no problem with much stronger punishment for people who abuse animals.

5. They're actually the perfect combination - both herding dogs.
The Sheltie can run circles around the Border Collie now (she was fast when she was younger). Sometimes it seems like she's killing the Sheltie, but they're just playing.

As for the fuckwad who burned the puppy, while I don't approve of such punishments it does make me reconsider the option of "an eye for an eye". That's just evil.

3. WTF is wrong with people!?
How could you hurt that poor little baby?

He will have adopters lined up around the block. (Now, if they can get those willing to adopt this little guy to browse the shelters for another just as cute, maybe we could rescue a bunch of dogs today. :) )
