Purple to the People: Obama Slurpee jokes turn into 7-Eleven's 2010 Unity Tour

7-Eleven rides election coattails into political fame as they launch their Purple to the People, 2010 Slurpee Unity Tour.

After 35 mentions of the frozen concoction in speeches by President Obama the convenience store chain jumped on the bandwagon, turned it into a Slurpee Truck boasting bipartisan Slurpees and blasted off on a campaign trail of their own.

The five trucks on the Slurpee Unity Tour are traveling from Dallas to Washington serving the frosty treat in the flavors of the nation; red, white and blue with an added twist on uniting the political parties by mixing red and blue and making the new color, purple -representing the harmony of the political parties.

"We are not surprised by President Obama's comments about Slurpee, which is non-partisan and has been bringing people together for more than 40 years," said Joe DePinto, president and CEO of 7-Eleven. "We have made an offer to the White House to install Slurpee machines and to host a Slurpee Summit.
