Bush Interview a Ratings Flop

According to TV by the Numbers, former President George W. Bush's much-hyped interview on NBC with Matt Lauer finished dead last in the television ratings.

Meanwhile, a new Gallup poll shows Bush's approval rate at just 44%, up only slightly from the 40% approval rate he had leaving office in January 2009.

10. That's very true.
Wanda Sykes is gonna send him a fruit basket, like she sent to Dick Cheney when he shot his friend in the face.

42. A recent poll suggested 44% of people would vote for Palin if she ran in 2012.
Clearly, 44% of the population is too stupid to live.

Dancing with the Stars? That is the only thing I know that was opposite the interview. I find it very stupid. Is the Palin girl still on that show?

but my understanding is that she humiliated some author for making shit up for his autobiography or something. I don't expect the nation's # 1 liar will get similar treatment.

When they broadcast his disgraceful ass being led in shackles into the jail cell where he belongs I'm sure they'll get top ratings.

36. Unfortunately, in this strange new world I find myself in
Both Bush and Cheney will more likely have airports named in their honor than ever see a day in jail.

America thinks a war criminal can still lead an exceptional nation.

I also have a real problem with our own current administration and Attorney General Holder in particular for failing to properly address these issues. When the new congress is seated they'll likely wish they had done what justice demanded, what the majority of Americans wanted, and what they were elected to do:

"Hundreds of Investigations of Obama Administration on the Horizon"

"By Elspeth Reeve | November 09, 2010 9:27am"

http://www.theatlanticwire.com/opinions/view/opinion/Hundreds-of-Investigations-of-Obama-Administration-on-the-Horizon-5710

"Rep. Darrell Issa can barely conceal his excitement at the thought of the hundreds of investigations into the Obama administration he'll oversee as the new chair of the House oversight committee. Issa wants his seven subcommittees to work at a pace of one or two hearings a week--meaning "seven hearings a week, times 40 weeks," the congressman told Politico's Jake Sherman and Richard E. Cohen.
It's a rate almost triple that of Rep. Henry Waxman when the Democrat was digging into the Bush administration. (Waxman held 203 hearings over two years, Issa is gunning for 280 in the next year.) "As Clint Eastwood says, a man needs to know his limitations," Issa said. The California Republican says his committee's job is to "measure failures," though "oversight should be done with a balance for the American people and not as a gotcha." Issa's already called Vice President Joe Biden about oversight of the stimulus. (Whether any of these potential mini-scandals will become fodder for impeachment of the president remains hotly debated.)"

More at the link.

It's still not too late. I hope President Obama and Attorney General Holder face reality and respond appropriately but I see no indication thus far they are willing or perhaps even capable of effective response against the Republicans. So far it's been like a Mr. Rogers episode, which is a really great neighborhood if you can find it but I'm certain it isn't in Washington, DC.

28. So? "Chuck" is usually last place too but with fewer viewers
See: November 8 vs. November 2 TV ratings. Last Monday's Chuck got 5 million viewers; the Bush interview got 7 million. Apparently Bush didn't have as much ratings booster power as something, say Dancing with the Stars. Hell, last night's House got higher ratings than last week's Game 5 of the World Series (GO GIANTS!)

Nah, just kidding. Watched "House" as I do every Monday at 8:00. I wouldn't sully my TV screen with the twin douche bags of Lauer and Dumbya.

Randi Rhodes did a great show today about this "interview," playing lots of clips which proved yet again what a fucking sociopath this entitled little prick is and always has been. According to the clips I heard, water-boarding was OK with him; invading Iraq on false pretenses - also OK. But Kanye West saying he don't care for the colored folk too much - not OK at all! Why, he was disgusted at the mere suggestion of such an idea!
