3. They had Rand Paul on as the first guest

and it was pretty amusing. Spitzer was trying to nail him down to some budget cuts he wants to make and, of course, Paul said he'd have to look at them and managed to ramble for 5 minutes. Spitzer said, well, at least you already have the filibustering skills down before you enter the senate, even if you won't answer my question. So, let me go through a couple programs and see whether you'd cut them...

And here Paul interrupts again and keeps talking again. Then he talks about downsizing programs, privatizing them if possible, or eliminating them. He talks specifically about "Obamacare," which will reduce (he says) $1.2 trillion from the deficit....except that Spitzer corrects him and supplies the CBO estimates that it would reduce the deficit. To which Paul replies, "You know, I think your ideological biases are keeping you from being a good broadcaster."

The whole thing was hilarious: Spitzer with facts and good questions; Paul with nothing and only ideology, ending with the accusation that his interviewer only had ideology.

Then I turned back to Countdown.

5. This is like "A Face in the Crowd" come to life

Remember the great Andy Griffith movie where he plays a country bumpkin who becomes a "plain-spoken" media star? Except he knew he was a fraud and I'm sure Palin has some sinister Rove-like PR flak pulling her string and convincing her that she's the voice of the people. Well, that and the millions of dollars she's made off the gullible.

who can't read clearly written report of food and inflation. Made her look like a dufus...which she is.
