13. That's Always The Case

As one who worked in the media world in a past life, there's always a lot of office politics that get in the way of doing one's job. Egos on that level are intense. We saw recently how skittish management can be in the Sanchez and Juan William situations and surely MSNBC was paying close attention to that. Add the stinging many in that network took from the Stewart rally and then a less than stellar election night ratings and the ingredients were there for a corporate freak out. Yep...connect the dots, when the donation revelation came out...from an outside source (Politico...who else??) and it got to the attention at the highest levels of the network, they hit the panic button and KO was shelved. This explains why he first heard about it in the media rather than a phone call...events went that fast. Look at how many people started jumping sharks and throwing tinfoil around here. Looks like management took a deep breath and realized it screwed up.

Amazingly for a "communications" business how poor management in that industry really does communicate.
