I was searching for information about the cheerleader from Silsbee High School who was forced to cheer for the athlete who allegedly raped her. Her lawsuit against her school was
thrown out in federal appeals court. I'd heard the athlete's name, Rakheem Bolton, on
a clip of
The Young Turks and decided to google that...it took several tries to get the spelling of his first name right. Guess what? The very first result was
a blog entry on a website called "Jett and Jahn." Innocent enough, right? But one wonders why result #1 wasn't a news site but rather a blog?
Here's the problem. Don't let the presence of a Democratic donkey on the website banner fool you. This Jett and Jahn website hosts a podcast hosted by them...and on their blog the writers and visitors openly spew an extreme right-wing and even white supremacist and anti-Semitic point of view. For instance, one blog
accuses Lady Gaga of being "a cultural tool for the Sexual Deviant Agenda." The very first comment about the rape case openly uses the N-word to describe the athlete accused of raping the cheerleader. Jett and Jahn are also present on Youtube; one masterpiece of theirs is an 8-part documentary "
How the Jews Invented Hollywood." The
general discussion section of the forum is dedicated to Jew-bashing and even accuses Jews of killing John F. Kennedy. The forum summary for the South Afrika (yes it's spelled that way) forum describes it: "Discuss current TNB in South Afrika and how whites can reclaim their country."
Most outrageously, another blog (apparently all the blogs are written by a Tom Connington) goes as far as to consider homosexuality an "invented culture." The author
tries as hard as he can to be smart and explain why gay rights harm American culture and basically conveys: "the word, forged by political radicals used to push an agenda, is synonymous with Sexual Deviancy." Yep, part of that "homosexuality is a choice" crowd...but honestly if it
were really a choice, then we wouldn't be talking about gay rights now wouldn't we?
So next time if you encounter "jettandjahn.com" on a Google search, don't click it. Sucks how google pumps up conservative and wingnut sites like Free Republic and Jett and Jahn and Michelle Malkin's blog on top 10 results all the time.
