Yes - this is coming from Arizona - home of SB1070.

The news is spinning that it's going to lose.... truth be told, it's down by 3,489 votes....
with about 150,000 early ballots & provisional ballots yet to count!

There is hope!

3. As did mine :)
This kinda makes me feel weird tho that early ballots still are being counted. This has been my argument about early ballots and an activist for Organizing for America talked me into doing this.

I bet alot of Goddard ballots haven't been counted, doubtful that it will change the election... it's just the thought that the ballots are still out there.

2. Regardless of the outcome here
I am heartened by the inevitable march of legalization. None of these initiatives would have been close - had they gotten on the ballot at all - a mere ten years ago.

1-2 more election cycles and they will ALL pass and the prohibition police state will crumble!

4. This is what happens when the citizens get a ballot measure up for vote, and not the Chamber

of Commerce type dollars.

Altho, I had a wacko tell me that George Soros is funding these measures to legalize pot. I just laughed in his face. :P

It does give me hope for this state!

5. I've never had the desire to partake even though almost everyone I know
does regularly, but I think criminalization is a ridiculous intrusion on privacy and an even more ridiculous waste of this good citizen's tax money.

7. I just want it to pass to help people who need it. Seriously, cancer is painful from what I've seen
and there is no reason why people who are suffering should be denied.

Why shove morphine down these people when there is another alternative that won't knock them on their ass?

I don't partake either, but did in my younger days ;)

11. My sis is in the midst of chemo now; it would be great if she had that alternative.
Maybe our leggies'll learn from this and do the smart thing.

Oh, wait, Pearce is prez--nevermind. It was a nice thought, though.

13. Pearce is never going to lose an election. He's perfectly matched with his district.
Best wishes to your sister

15. That's the sickening part.--and he's not playing the part, he IS
everything he appears to be, as is Brenda Burns. (((shudder)))

6. maybe the third time is the charm
I never understood why Arizona had to vote for this again since the law passed already more than a decade ago. and more than a decade ago people voted to overrule the legislature that was trying to prohibit implementation of the law.

seems like the vote should have been on whether or not to throw those legislators in jail for acting like little despots.

but, whatever.

8. I don't know if you're in Az or not, but the majority of the state legislators are a bunch of
assholes. Think SB1070.

10. No, not in AZ - but honestly, why weren't they tossed in jail?
is there no recourse for people who vote something into law if the rat bastards in office don't want to implement it? honestly. why aren't those people in jail or impeached for such hubris.

12. Why is Sheriff Joe still in power? His abuses of power, stepping outside of the law have been
documented over and over again for years. Yet he's still here.

I have no answers for this state. Everytime I think we are moving forward, we take 2 steps backwards.
This past election seriously caused me concern.

14. The past election was a damn disaster and may finally have pushed me over the edge to leaving.
I've lived here since 1970, when I was a mere young'un. I will sorely miss the lovely Sonoran, but I really cannot take it anymore.
