This is snipped from a LTTE in today's newspaper:
. . .I would also remind you that it was Americans who recognized the evils of slavery and it was several hundred thousand white Americans who bled and died to free their dark-skinned brothers from slavery.
It is only in the U.S. that there exists within a nation's borders, sovereign nations belonging to the native peoples. What other nation on earth has ever done this? . . .
Care to imagine the caliber of conversation during the recent campaigns?
