One more set of lips meets Junior's ass: Kanye West apologizes for his Katrina remarks

Kanye West regrets saying that George W. Bush doesn't care about black people--a post-Katrina claim that marked the low point of Bush's presidency.

"I would tell George Bush in my moment of frustration, I didn't have the grounds to call him a racist," he told Matt Lauer on Tuesday, for a pre-taped segment of 'Today.' "I believe that in a situation of high emotion like that we as human beings don't always choose the right words."

Bush reacted to Kanye's apology in a live interview Wednesday on 'Today,' saying he "appreciated" the rapper's words (scroll down for video).

"I'm not a hater," Bush said. "I don't hate Kanye West. I was talking about an environment in which people were willing to say things that hurt. Nobody wants to be called a racist if in your heart you believe in equality of races."

Kanye and Bush may have buried the hatchet, but Kanye has redirected his anger toward his 'Today' show treatment, Lauer in particular for playing footage of his VMA stage storming incident while he was talking about the former president. He wrote in a series of tweets:

1. Guess he woke up with a horse head in his bed..
can't figure out why he'd apologize otherwise.

5. That won't be popular here, but Kayne West owns his own feelings..
and if he has feelings of remorse, then he can express them. Politics be damned.

With all the other sh!t he has done, I bet plenty don't even remember him doing that.

8. I just regret the fact that the remorse came after a tantrum by Bush
Does he have remorse because he has remorse, or because Bush talked trash?

Of course he owns his feelings in either scenario, but I just have the feeling that Bush yelled "JUMP" and West responded with "how HIGH, sir?"

His life, his business...just like you said.

9. Bush* may or may not be a racist
but I'd be willing to bet he would have shown more concern if a more...repub-friendly area suffered a natural disaster.

Personally, I wish Kanye had not apologized. If the lowest point in Bush's* time as President is to be called out by an entertainer, then he deserves it. The worse thing one can do to a racist, is call him a racist.

11. Re the more "repub-friendly area": Not really
Bush claimed that he looked forward to sipping tea on Helmet-Hair Lott's front porch, and that implied promise was never kept. Bush isn't a racist; he just doesn't give a flying fuck about anybody who can't do him some good. Poor black people in New Orleans are therefore totally equal in Bush's eyes to George Soros or Bill Gates.

13. Most racists don't burn crosses or wear robes
Strom Thurmond didn't mind sleeping with the family maid that was black, but he's still a racist. Bush* isn't a racist just because you say he isn't one. Also, putting poor black people in New Orleans in the same sentence with 2 of the richest men in the country, white men at that, implying that Bush* would disregard both is rather disingenuous. If we're going to follow the classist angle, I'm sure that an audience would be granted to the rich guys before the poor people.

10. Bush despises poor people
and hates poor people. There is ample evidence in my opinion that Bush advanced the careers of many black people and does not bear them racial animosity, example, Condaleeza Rice.

Hating poor people and letting them die and suffer when it is your job to keep them safe and secure is despicable. Republicans hurt poor people and tax them and imprison them as a matter of policy when they do not do the same with rich people. As evil as racism is, hating poor people is just as bad.
