Condit's DNA found on Levy's underwear
Condit's DNA found on Levy's underwear

Washington (CNN) -- Former U.S. Rep. Gary Condit's semen was found on underwear belonging to Chandra Levy, according to an FBI biologist testifying Wednesday in the trial of Ingmar Guandique, who is accused of murdering the Washington intern in 2001.

The panties were retrieved in May 2001 by investigators searching Levy's apartment in the days after her parents reported her missing. Her body was found over a year later in Washington's Rock Creek Park.

The testimony addresses the question of whether Condit, a sitting congressman from California at the time Levy vanished, was having an affair with the intern, who had just turned 24 when she disappeared.

The biologist, Alan Giusti, testified for prosecutors that no DNA was recovered from a separate pair of underwear and sports tights recovered from the crime scene.

:spray:

Is this news, though? I thought that it was pretty well established that he had had an affair with her but he denied being involved in her disappearance/murder.

Talk about news you (don't) need.

16. Funny, the thought of semen doesn't do that to ME........
but then, the process by which it winds up on panties has always appealed to me.

30. How?
Sex is sex. It was an affair, not a coerced relationship. Is it the older/younger thing that makes it 'icky'? Would it be icky if they didn't work together? If she was older and he, younger? Seriously, who really gives a fuck who is fucking who?

Condit was on the House Intel Committee. Someone might have motive to try to blackmail him. Too bad for Chandra, Condit's district is thick with made men.

own washer/dryer and paid by the load, she'd probably wait until she had a full load or two of clothing before doing the wash. At least that's the way I used to do things, but maybe I'm a cheapskate. If they had sex frequently, is it that surprising there would be some semen-stained items that hadn't yet been laundered?

as far as Condit, he admitted they were having an affair, so this doesn't mean much.

Or she was smoking a semen diseminater with her panties.

Edited on Wed Nov-10-10 05:43 PM by cbdo2007
was the superior of the other one, who just happened to end up murdered.

And for some reason Condit didn't immediately come clean with the affair, with his intern who just happened to be murdered. You would think if he was innocent he would want to clear his name as quickly as possible, not still be keeping secrets.

He is still a suspect in this. Even if they aren't saying so publicly, it is just too many strange circumstances for him to not be involved somehow.

39. Um....yes, in a freakin' split second. To take out any shadow of a doubt that
I didn't KILL someone??? Yes, in a micro-second.

And he was having affairs with other women as well. He should have just come clean at the beginning if he really was innocent.

42. Until someone is convicted with concrete evidence....the "spouse" is always the main suspect.
Edited on Wed Nov-10-10 09:56 PM by cbdo2007
And all of the "affairs" of the murdered individual should be brought to light and investigated until the killer is brought to justice.

It's strange all of the people here running to Condit's defense. Levy is the victim here...she's dead. She was having an affair with a very, very powerful man high up in the goverment who was also having affairs with other women and has lied repeatedly to investigators since the beginning of the investigation - yet people seem to be lining up to paint HIM as the victim. Let me guess...OJ Simpson was the "victim" in his case too??

8. Condir was having an affair with Levy, hence Condit's DNA
was retrieved from Levy's undies found in her appartment. There was no DNA on undies found at the crime scene.

and drove way out to the suburbs to throw a gift box in a dumpster. He didn't murder the intern but did everything to cast the finger of suspicion on himself.

33. So? They were having an affair & she was leaving , to visit her family
It would NOT be unusual for a couple to "say goodbye"..and perhaps she planned on doing laundry when she returned.

Condit is a creep..not a murderer.. and she was just a silly young woman who thought she could "get her man", if only she could make him love her enough to leave his family..

sad all'round.
