1. Just heard it on the radio.
The guys on sports radio say it was a heart attack. Everyone is in huge shock.

2. Didn't he have a heart attack several years back? I don't remember the
circumstances but I remember when he was gone, and when he was well enough to return.

I'm happy he had what must have been a GREAT job, because he sure brought a lot of happiness to M's fans!

6. I thought he sounded tired at times this year, though.
It was a very wearing season.

I live in Seattle but am a lifelong Tigers' fan - I guess everything does go in threes, first Ernie, then Sparky, now this. Sigh.

9. You're forgiven :-). It was tough for several years being an M's fan here. And tough
for the M's! I remember going to the Kingdome and buying the cheapest tickets, knowing we could sit anywhere we wanted once inside because there were so few people. Listening to Niehaus on the radio.

I mentioned in another post, it was probably a WONDERFUL way to make a living, and he was so loved!

3. I took the tour of Safeco last summer, and they had a little Niehaus section
He was part of the fabric of the Mariners.

He was a great announcer

7. If I recall correctly, he was the second person inducted into the Mariners Hall of Fame --
after Griffey. He was greatly loved.

13. I stand corrected, or maybe I need to add to it -- just saw on the news he was
inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown!

I can't imagine baseball without Dave Niehaus.

One of the sweetest, most genuine human beings I've ever met.

I'm not a baseball fan today if not for Dave Niehaus.

15. I know - but I can't help but think that he had a wonderful life. He loved
what he did so much and he knew how much we all loved him! Can you imagine, standing in Safeco Field and having thousands of people cheering you? He was truly part of the team.

RIP, Dave Niehaus.

I listened to the guy since the Mariners began.
